They said the 1986 comprehensive immigration bill would solve the problem, and now they say this one will. Hmmmm! A dumb bill by any other amnesty name is still a stupid amnesty bill. A brain dead congress by any other name is still brain dead. History tends to repeat itself.Washington loves to call those millions of illegal aliens as poor babies only doing the jobs Americans won’t do, and living in the shadows. Of course they are, and this bill will still keep them in the shadows and allow millions more to migrate freely into the shadows of American life. Only, the shadows are not really shadows as the aliens have already been lifted out by the feds not enforcing the laws of the land. The Home Depot parking lots do not have shadows. The roofs these aliens are working on are not in the shadows. Most of the yards they mow are sparkled shadows. The fields where the aliens are picking veggies are in full sunlight. The chicken houses they work in are covered, but the parking lots are not shadowed. The factories they labor in, as the chicken houses, the roofs, and the fields have been open for the feds to inspect at any time. The feds would not do that before, so why do they think they can sell to us now the fact that the feds will impose sanctions and enforce penalties on the employers. A few raids here and there over the last 6 months won’t cut it. It takes real enforcement with fear.
It appears that everyone else is ready to appease the illegal aliens for a chance at getting their vote in the future. Even the Chairman of the RNC, Mel Martinez is a sponsor of this bill, as is Jon Kyl, Arlen Spector, and Lindsey Graham supportive of the amnesty bill. And John McCain too, is sitting at Kennedy’s side. RINOs big time.
The senate just defeated a proposal to phase out the temporary worker program 49-48. It’s still a part of the bill. Temporary becomes permanent when the laws are not enforced.
Whatever it takes folks. What happened to the enforcement of previous immigration laws? It’s now crunch time and the silent majority has to speak up and let them know we want the border closed first and foremost. Congress should write a bill that closes the border only, that slams the open door shut, then after that deed is done, then they can bring up the subject of amnesty, but only after the border is shut down. We can see right through those “triggers.” Another name would be loopholes.
Write your congressman, your Senator, your representative in the house, and President Bush and let them know that there will be no contributions made, nor a vote cast to any republican or democrat that endorses this travesty of justice. What has become of our rule of law? The law in this country states that immigration into this country must be made in a certain way. That has been the law of the land. Why will it not be enforced?
The time is now for the quiet majority to come out of the shadows and defeat this bill. A stink by any other name is still a stink, and this 1000 page bill stinks.
