survey, survey, survey, what would we do without surveys?

the latest and most up to date survey.   "The New York Times/CBS News poll, the latest in a series of recent surveys that have shown an unexpectedly sharp drop in support both for Bush and the war, came as Congress prepared to vote on a controversial compromise bill that would give Bush some 100 billion dollars more for U.S. military operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan."   Now, it's 76% who believe that the war is going badly, and supposedly 56% of self confessed republicans think the war is going "somewhat badly".   How about them apples folks?   If you really need to, the rest is available here.

But, who did they call and survey?  Have you ever received a phone call from the NY Times or CBS asking your opinions?  NO    What questions are they asking?  Do they ever publish the questions and possible multi-choice answers?  NO.  So, how do we know that it's not all make believe what the Times wants us to believe?   Hmmmmm!  How do we know?   Oh, because they said so.  Because they say they have integrity.  Because they are educated journalists from the best schools, and have gone through vigorous on the job training under the best for many months under harsh conditions of on the ground field work in remote places like Oklahoma City, during that Murrah building bombing of 1995.

What would we do without surveys?  Not too many years hence, the survey and poll crowd will need to find another occupation as the new media, the internet, is taking over the dissemination of the news and opinions.  As less and less Americans tune in to the news at six or ten, 20/20, or the nightly news broadcast with whoever, or any of the other network news programs, their influence over our opinions become less and less.  And that, ladies and gentlemen is devastating to them.  Major newspapers all across the country are being forced to "cutting back", and that is just a sampling of what's to come.

What will the liberals do to protect their territory?  What form of regulation will the liberals dream up to protect their territory?   The Fairness Doctrine is the first attempt to regulate talk radio, which the liberal social engineers have been unsuccessful at being successful.  Some sort of regulation over the internet will be next in line.  And they'll have the surveys to prove it.
