John McCain is listening to somebody, but who is it? It's not the conservative base who by all means have been against that amnesty comprehensive immigration bill that failed. Not the conservatives, who is left? It must be the same liberals that he collaborated with when he co-authored the bill with Kennedy.
John McCain, a republican?
"Opponents of the legislation, he said, are not listening to the public." No John, you are not listening.
"
People want us to resolve this issue. The majority of Americans support a comprehensive approach to it," McCain said." No John, the majority of Americans do not want a comprehensive immigration package.
"So for us to do nothing and celebrate the fact
that we stopped this legislation, well then those who have a better
idea can give it to us. We can consider it and move forward." Just wait John, there are some republicans working on that plan right now and it will include closing the borders while the the rest of the department of Homeland Security is charged with enforcing the laws currently on the books concerning employers employing illegal immigrants. Hopefully I'm not making this up. Hopefully there are a few conservative republicans that can still write laws in English.
Hey, John, have you thought about actually enforcing the laws on the books now, and see how that works. Really enforcing the laws, not some defacto enforcement of a show and tell variety. Just really down to earth continual sustained enforcement.
But John is right on one point. "We've got other things to do in the Senate.," Yes, if the Muslim situation is not solved also, and the taliban and Islamic fascists and their threats against the west is not permanently removed from American shores, then the Hispanic migration into the US will be a small matter.
I'd rather have Hispanics and their culture to live with, than the intolerant culture of Islam.
