Although that huge comprehensive immigration bill did not pass, I believe that eventually there will soon be another plan to legalize the illegals, and it will be much sooner than any of us hope for. Why?
Because of this statement, which seems to summarize the feelings of our liberal public officials all over the political map. Democrats and republicans alike.
"I am angered by this morning's arrest by federal officers of approximately 150 Portland residents who were working at a local produce company. I certainly understand why federal officials executed criminal warrants against three individuals who stole and sold Social Security numbers. But to go after local workers who are here to support their families while filling the demands of local businesses for their labor is bad policy." Those are the words of the mayor of Portland, Oregon, after
ICE arrested 165 undocumented workers and 3 managers at three work sites of the Fresh Del Monte sites for knowlingly hiring illegal aliens (undocumented).
This statement is a good indicator of the attitudes of our public officials from Portland to Boston. The attitude. These are hard working people just wanting to support their families and they will work at those hard, low pay, boring unskilled jobs that Americans do not like to do. And when they are arrested, it disrupts their family life.
And then the officials make these aliens out to be victims. And it would be inhumane to deport them and leave their families and children here while daddy is sent back.
It appears that president Bush feels the same way Then anyone who opposes granting these hard working people a chance at the good life is made into a villian, a hard hearted evil anti-immigration bully. That's the game as it is being played.

That's anti-immigration. And throw in a few more "That's" and that will be all the liberal left knows or cares about the illegal alien migration that will destroy America as we know it. It's now about future votes.
The really scarry part to me about all this is that it will be setting a precedent of tolerating our laws being broken for a specific group of people. What's to stop an invasion of millions of Muslims coming into the US and using the same techniques, the same arguments, and appealing to our same senses?I'd rather tolerate the millions of Hispanics and their culture than the culture of Islam, but if we take one, I'm afraid we will have to take the other.
