President Bush has met with the republican delegation in a last ditch effort to sway some fence sitters to get off that fence and jump on board of that "comprehensive immigration" bill. All he needs is a few.
"Now is the time to get it done."
"status quo is unacceptable."
"Some members in there believe that we need to move a comprehensive bill, some don't," the president said. "I understand that. It's a highly emotional issue." More.
You bet it is emotional, emotionally wrong. So ladies and gentlement, the bottomline is that we real conservatives have stopped the first effort and we must work just as hard to thwart this second effort to legalize every illegal alien in this country allowing them to bring in extended family members.
Keep those cards, calls and letters going. Continue to call the talk radion hosts. Write those letters to the editors. This is democracy at work, and it is work. This is not the time for the "silent majority" to stay silent.
