A Monticello Middle School student lashes out at teacher…on stage…in expletives and obscenities.

The headline for this AP story is “Kudos, Too, to My Blankety-Blank Teacher.”

“Savannah Larson, 13, gave the first performance in the spring concert attended by about 700 students, teachers, relatives and friends at Monticello Middle School. At the end of singing Rogers & Hart's "Where or When," she delivered what first appeared to be a verbal nod to the instructor, Constance S. "Connie" Noakes. “

“"I forgot to thank my wonderful choir teacher, Ms. Noakes, for all that she's taught me these past couple of years, like always knowing what to say in any situation, like..." Larson began, then let fly a stream of expletives and obscenities she said Noakes regularly used in class.”

The administrator is protecting the teacher, while the investigation goes on, and Savannah Larson; an honor student was suspended for 10 days. The girl and her mother say they personally talked with the teacher, and the administrator, in times past about the teachers use of obscenities in class.  But to no avail.  So Savannah took things into her own hands when the opportunity arose, and it did, and she did.

This girl has guts.  Kudos too, to Savannah Larson.

I’m sure you can surmise the looks on the faces of the audience when Savannah thanked her teacher for the lessons in modern day language. What a look of horror that must have come over the teacher, Constance Noakes, for that exposure in public for everyone to hear. The suspension will be worth it.

Public education? Remember now, this is public education where the parents for the most part, are thought of as inhibitors to a child’s proper education. And if you are raising your child in a Christian home and working to instill some good old-fashioned morals and traits of responsibility and accountability in your children, then you are really a hindrance. To teachers like Constance Noakes.

My best wishes to Savannah Larson.
