There they go again... Think Progressively about talk radio.

Conclusion to the report is that  talk radio is dominated almost exclusively by conservatives.   Duh.  Now why would that be?   Is Rush Limbaugh controlling ALL of the stations around the country and preventing either of them from broadcasting a liberal talk host.?    Does he threaten to pull his program if a liberal is provided air time?    How can one guy be so powerful?    Are listeners paid to listen to Rush?  Are all those callers-in actually employees of Rush?

Let's see Air America tried, but could not make it.  Trying again.

The left-wing liberal think tank "Think Progress" has released it's new 'scientific? study called  "The Structual Imbalance of Talk Radio"   It's a whopping 40 pages long.  It's the kind of stuff politicians get impressed by.

"Our conclusion is that the gap between conservative and progressive talk radio is the result of multiple structural problems in the U.S. regulatory system, particularly the complete breakdown of the public trustee concept of broadcast, the elimination of clear public interest requirements for broadcasting, and the relaxation of ownership rules including the requirement of local participation in management."   Here.

In other words, the radio frequencies belong to the governement and they must be allotted out on a non-discrimatory balanced system so that ALL voices are heard equally.  The radio stations do not own the airwaves, the governement does.

It's coming folks, we've enjoyed the ride, but it's about to end.  Rush will be able to play a lot more golf with Neal Boortz in the Bahamas.  And we the people get screwed.

Experts say Beware of Global Cooling.

"The mud at the bottom of B.C. fjords reveals that solar output drives climate change - and that we should prepare now for dangerous global cooling."

That's the advice of expert climatologists.

"Ten thousand years ago, while the world was coming out of the thou-sand-year-long "Younger Dryas" cold episode, temperatures rose as much as 6C in a decade -- 100 times faster than the past century's 0.6C warming that has so upset environmentalists."   Read more.  Get the cold hard facts.

Hillary is boooooed.

Yes,folks, Hillary is sliding and Barrack is climbing. At the Take Back America Conference, this morning Hillary was booed as she mentioned the Iraq conflict. Oh, the conference was sponsored by a very left-wing activist group called the Campaign for America's Future which supports Barrack Obama.  Link.

“America's Future insists that the question of falling wages and rising insecurity be placed at the center of our national debate. We challenge those who suggest that nothing can be done and expose the conservative agenda that has made things worse. America's Future works to revitalize a progressive agenda, and fights to make this economy work for working people once again. We engage citizens, activists and political leaders in a renewed debate about the kind of country—and the kind of world—we want to build for the generations yet to come.” That’s what they say about themselves.

Falling wages. Rising insecurity. A progressive agenda. The kind of world---we want.

Here the country is in one of the healthiest economies of decades, the dow jones has seen new record highs, the unemployment rate is at an all time low percentage, and people are spending and traveling like there was not an increase in oil and gas prices, and this group says that they must fight to make the economy work for working people again. If it’s not working people who are working, then who is? Sounds like this group is in the pockets of the major unions.

Yes, there is rising insecurity and that is mostly because of the war of the west against the enemy of the east, that these same people do not understand. How many times does it have to be said that if we do not defeat the Islamic radical fascists over there then we will have to engage them over here. That is insecurity. And about the attacks at our schools, were they not all ideologically Muslim motivated. That is insecurity. The fact that our leftist liberals do not see the need for school administrators and security officials to carry concealed weapons sends a message to terrorists that these facilities, and malls, and hospitals, and City Halls are open and ready for an attack.   No one to stop us.   That’s insecurity.

A progressive agenda, well that’s why the country is in the mess it’s in now. Call it Bill Clinton. Call it Jimmy Carter. Call it Planned Parenthood. Call it Right to work. Call it The Earned Income tax credit, Call it the open borders, Call it Code Pink. Call it Cindy Sheehan.  Call it Climate Change,  Call it the Fairness Doctrine, Call it Michael Moore and Al Gore. Call it Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi,  Call it Hillary Rodham Clinton.   On and on.

Speaking of Al Gore, this is what they mean about the kind of world they envision. A world free of all pollution, environmentally safe and secure, without poverty, without aids, without income disparities, without any offensiveness towards feminists, gays and blacks, and universal health care free for everyone.  One big happy village.

In other words, a socialist tyranny.  Now that’s progressive, and would be the work of an Atrocitizer.   Now that's a big long booooooooooooo !   (That word Atrocitizer refers to any person or group of people responsible for the perpetraation or conduct of atrocities)  Biga's rants

But, is that not also what Islamic Sharia law is about.   The similarities are fascinating.

From Newt Gingrich and his 10 point plan for immigration reform.

Gee what an idea.  Outsourse to private industry to check on private industry so it can check on illegal activity.

3. “Outsource to American Express, Visa or MasterCard the job of building a real-time verification system so that honest companies can confirm the legal status of all workers and identify people with forged papers before they hire them as fast as your automatic teller machine identifies you and gives you money in a matter of seconds. We must distinguish between companies that deliberately hire illegal workers and companies that hire people who they believe are legal. It is the government's duty to help this second group of companies by providing a real-time verification system for identifying the legal status of all workers so that it is possible to screen out those with illegal documents. The government should outsource the creation of this system so that it is easy, fast and accurate.” The rest of the plan is available here.

Yes folks, it’s just numbers associated with names, sex, date of birth, eye color and things like that. Amazon and those credit card companies, and banks have huge databases with millions of people and their personal information securely kept for inspection and periodically updated. Go ahead log into Amazon to buy a book or whatever, you enter your log in name, your pin number and zippo, you are ready for another transaction, or you can check on a previous order for shipping date etc. And gee wiz folks, you even trust it with your credit card number. It’s secure. It’s digitally encrypted.

Now, why can’t our federal government develop a similar secure employment verification system?  Rather than pushing the stupid Basic Pilot Program which has so many loopholes in it that an illegal alien can still be hired after an employer checks the information.

It’s just numbers, private SSN’s, employer Identification numbers, and legal visa numbers. Each associated with a name, address, sex, date of birth, and such. Simple. We consider the Amazon system simple to use and secure, otherwise millions of shoppers would not be using it daily.

An applicant comes in and applies for a job, after the interview, the employer logs in to the federal system, enters the ssn, the name of the applicant and other information, and then a screen appears, “OK to hire”, or “need additional information”, or “that number is currently in use”. Hey, Hosea, you can start work tomorrow. Or, sorry Hosea, but I need some more information. Or, sorry Hosea, we’ll have to wait a few days as that number you gave me shows that someone else with that number is currently working in Des Moines, Iowa.   A flag goes up, the feds double check the person in Des Moines, and it goes from there.   If Hosea is not the owner of the number, the feds are alerted in that town, they know the address he supplied to the employer, and knock on the door.   Hosea, come with us.

Eventually, Hosea, trying to use forged documents will give up and go back to where Hosea came from.

Simple folks. Numbers associated with personal information. But can the feds be trusted to set up such a secure system? We the people trust Amazon, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and the banks.   But the feds?   It appears they also know that they cannot be trusted.   Surely, it’s not a case of stupidity, or is it just a case of pandering to La Raza and other lobbying groups, while the American citizen be dammed.

Authorities say...cooperate.

“Give them the money and give them the keys,” Sheriff Harry Lee said. “You make an insurance payment on your car, and nobody gets shot.”   It's safer to cooperate with someone attempting to rob you ,or your house, or to rape you, or your wife, or to kill you, or your wife and children.   But this kid did not see it that way.

"A 17-year-old boy foiled an attempted carjacking, wrestling a gun from a would-be robber and shooting him after the man grabbed his mother,"   Story.

And a homeowner holds at bay an intruder breaking into his home.   "The homeowner told police he saw the man trespassing in the back yard and that the man entered his home without permission. There were three people inside the home, one of which was a small child."

Two brave people.   The liberal secular progressive attitude of appeasement and cooperation has a foothold  in everywhere, from congress down to the local police departments.  When an enemy comes to kill and destroy, cooperate.   It was known at one time as the "hippie generation".   Walking around malls holding up the index and middle finger in a V and saying "peace man" and these are they who have been running things.  Instead of giving these people the middle finger, the silent majority has been sliently watching the world go crazy.

These were two Americans who get it.

Washington Ethics…Zero tolerance needed.

If it’s not the republicans crying about democrat ethics, then it’s the democrats crying about republican misconduct. And the people say power corrupts, and it does. And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

“The Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) says 96 members of Congress from 33 states have used their offices to "financially benefit" family members. The list includes 41 Democrats and 55 Republicans.”   From The Washington Times.  Some of this is just nit picking, and some of it is serious ethics violations.

The CREW report cites 17 members of Congress, 11 Democrats and six Republicans, who "used their campaign funds to make campaign contributions to relatives." In addition, two-dozen lawmakers, 10 Democrats and 14 Republicans, have family members who actively lobby Congress.”

But we the people don’t trust any of them. The recent gallop poll gave congress an approval rating of just 29%. In March of 2005 it was a bit better at 37%. But, and this furthers the low approval rating, congress just does not care what the people think of their behavior. Or, if they do pretend to care, it’s only for the approval of the loudest voices, the loudest noisemakers from the lobbyists and the special interest groups, or a special voting block. What kind of special news reports do we get from the mainstream press? Not much. Who cares, it’s not as important as Paris Hilton, which the people got inundated with her latest updated tear of remorse.

“In the November 2006 election, the voters demanded congressional ethics reform. And so, the newly appointed chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is now duly in charge of regulating the ethical behavior of her colleagues. But for many years, Feinstein has been beset by her own ethical conflict of interest, say congressional ethics experts.”   Read more.

Let’s see now. Diane Feinstein resigned her chairmanship of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee (MILCON) in January. Since then how much of an investigation has been into her ethics violations of funneling millions of military contracts to her husbands firms while she was chairperson of MILCON? There appears to be a shield of protection surrounding her behavior. Paris Hilton got more coverage.

What is needed is a similar program, which our public school administrators have been operating under, it's called “zero tolerance” rules, it allows absolutely zero infractions.   No touching allowed.

Lots of talk and that’s about it folks. There will be no zero tolerance in Washington. Otherwise, there would be zero representatives in Washington.

Two different ways to help the poor. New York City or Tulsa.

First the Tulsa plan. “Tulsa is on the cusp of eliminating chronic homelessness with Mayor Kathy Taylor backing a unique nonprofit and philanthropic project. The strategy involves putting a homeless person into a basic housing unit with no strings attached. The person is then surrounded with services to help work on personal issues.” Locations are being sought to develop the housing units. The type of housing would be small units for single-room occupancy and would be a mix of subsidized and fair-market value units. "We want it to be part of the community," said mayoral aide Dwain Midget. "We don't want anyone to walk down the street and see this as homeless housing.” The Zarrow Families Foundation started the effort last year by contacting the Mental Health Association of Tulsa and the Tulsa Housing Authority to provide social service and housing expertise.    Read more of it.

The New York Plan. “In New York, the two-year pilot program with about 14,000 participants will use private funds Bloomberg has raised because he did not want to spend government money on something that is highly experimental. More than $43 million has been raised toward the $53 million goal, Deputy Mayor Linda Gibbs said. Poor residents will be rewarded for good behavior - like $300 for doing well on school tests, $150 for holding a job and $200 for visiting the doctor - under an experimental anti-poverty program that city officials detailed Monday.” Also, $25 for attending parent-teacher conferences, $25 per month for a child who maintains a 95 percent school attendance record, $400 for graduating high school, $100 for each family member who sees the dentist every six months and $150 a month for adults who work full time."   Read more of it.

I am a metropolitan Tulsan, so I will make a few personal observations about this project. Even though the Zarrow foundation initiated the project with the city, from the mayor’s standpoint, the important issue is getting the homeless off the streets in front of the brand new convention center when it opens next year. In her own words: "If we develop downtown, we also have to develop a perception of safety," Taylor said. "But with substandard housing and homelessness, we have to address it in a much broader housing plan. Get the homeless away from the BOK center. The mayor wants the housing to be incorporated into communities. That means away form the downtown area.

The unanswered questions.  How will they be fed? Will they be expected to cook their own meals? Will they then be granted food stamps to buy the food to cook, or will the public/private cooperative effort supply the food? How do they get to the stores to buy these basics? Or, will they be bused downtown to the food kitchens, like the Salvation Army center located just a few blocks from that new convention center? How often? Who pays the drivers? Who buys the vans? Will they be segregated in their housing units by any criteria, and Whose? Will there be nurses available at each unit, or a group of roaming nurses to oversee their medical needs? Will they provide these people with TV’s for entertainment? Will there be home visits to inspect housekeeping practices? How often? Who will pay them? Then are brooms, mops, and the just basic housekeeping materials being provided? Who pays for that stuff? Will there be inspections to oversee their own personal hygiene practices? Will they be allowed to smoke in these units? Will they be supplied with telephones for emergencies? A land phone or cell phone? Surely they will want cable TV.  Clothing.  How much and what kind? Who will see that they wear adequate clothing during the winter months? Who buys all of that?   The mayor wants the homes to be part of the communities.  What communities?  Hers?  or Mine?  Who takes care of the lanscaping practices, mowing and all that stuff?  What if they become a nuisance in the community?  What if they would rather sleep in the front yards on nice evenings?  On and on.

But no answers yet.

And just wait for the word to get out that Tulsa is providing free housing and all the benefits to go along with it.

Is this just another dumb idea about to be hatched without thought of the unintended consequences that always arise a few years into the “problem solved” legislation?  The problem with the poor and the homeless will never be solved.  Never.  Never Ever.   It can only be made to look better, and it will only make one "feel" better to have done something, anything.

I rather think the New York plan has a better chance. New York is trying to change the behavior through positive behavior modification, rather than encouraging more irresponsible behavior through free give always.   If the convention center was not the most important issue on mayor Taylors mind right now, I rather doubt the homeless would be considered anything more than just a nuisance.

No longer Incomprehensible Immigration reform.

If you’ve been one of those fence sitters about immigration and what to do about it, then there is an article that you need to read.   Kevin James has taken the time to get beyond the talking points and into the details and lays it out for our amazement.  Once you get an understanding of what this comprehensive bill entails, S 1348, you will no longer be on that fence, but wholly against this thing that was created behind closed doors, that even Bush and a few turn coat republicans are favoring.

But first off to another point.    A few years ago, this would not have happened. A few years ago, the public would not have been able to download the contents of the bill, read it and analyze it at your sweet time, and then write about it in this new media that is available today for millions to read.  Our ability to do that is driving the liberals crazy. They don’t like it one bit.   It infringes on their ability to pass legislation without the public really knowing much about it   But now we can go onto the Thomas (Library of congress) website and read an entire bill, the amendments, who the sponsors are and what actions have been taken while sitting at home, or in the office, or with your lap top hooked up at a Starbucks sipping a freshly brewed exotic coffee blend.  We can do that.  Just average day in, day out,  run of the mill citizens can read things like this for ourselves.

Just think back to the days when the EPA was created in 1970 and what the people were told and knew about the legislation that would create The Environmental Agenct..   I don’t remember much, but you can surely guess what we were told.   It was to protect the environment for dangerous pesticides like DDT, to keep our drinking water safe, to prevent people from the toxic elements of dangerous chemicals and etc. And now, the agency is intrusive and regulatory into every aspect of our lives. Acid rain. Asbestos, protecting the Beaches, The Clean Air and Water Act, Climate Change, Hazardous Waste, Lead, Mercury, Mold, Oil spills, Ozone, Pesticides, Radon, Recycling, Superfund, Wetlands, and more…

Hardly anything can be done without first contacting the EPA for approval. They just need to know that you are not endangering the environment in any way. Farmers have been denied having irrigation for their crops, because it may disturb the “wetlands”.  The media is encourgaging people to have their homes tested for radon, and if you sell an older home, it will get inspected for asbestos and mold and the likes.  It's everywhere.

We cannot let a new agency be created to handle the massive paperwork and regulations necessary to deal with the illegal aliens transitioning to citizenship. That’s a nice sounding phrase. Transitioning to citizenship. As if the majority of the illegal aliens really want to go through that long process, heavy fines and a trip back home and all that stuff so that they can transition to citizenship.

Read Kevin James and his article   “How big will the new agency be?”   Kevin makes it comprehensible.

The Iraq problem will last for years…General Petraeus.

Gee, do you really think so? That’s not the way Harry Reid and the democrats see it. So, why the big disagreements? Is there a possibility the actual quarterback calling the plays in the huddle, on the field, during the game can get a sense of the real opposition the troops are facing?  Or, would you think that the office boys back home looking at the game through the eyes of the press, while sitting in their leather chairs are better equipped to call the plays?   A no brainer?  Any high school coach knows that answer.

“Conditions in Iraq will not improve sufficiently by September to justify a drawdown of US Military forces, the top commander in Iraq said yesterday.”

“Asked whether he thought the job assigned to an additional 30,000 troops deployed as the centerpiece of President Bush’s new war strategy would be completed by then, Gen David H. Petraeus replied: "I do not, no. I think that we have a lot of heavy lifting to do."

The general was on Fox News Sunday and on NBC Meet the Press warning about the regional consequences of an early withdraw of the troops.   No kidding.   He really did say that.    I wonder if Harry was listening?    What difference would it make to Harry the Reid anyway, what anybody else has said about the effects of the surge, about the necessity of remaining in Iraq until a victory is assured, about the viciousness of those Islamic fascists, about their determination to have Iraq as their own as a staging area for a future assault on Israel.   Harry does not understand English.   He only understands what the vast left wing of the liberal democratic party utter into his ears. That’s all he understands. That’s all Kennedy understands. And Hillary. And Barrack. And Edwards.

All of them are part of the vast left-wing socialist liberal secular progressives of the democrat party.  Why not call them names, label them as anti-America kooks.   They have been labeling the conservatives for years as the vast right-wing radical fringe group of the republican party in the pockets of the evangelicals. Well, I’m proud to be part of that group.  I got off on a tangent there, but not really.   The battle is against the radical Islamic fascists, and why can’t Harry see it?    President Bush sees it, but does not see that he has another enemy, and it is Harry and company.

These Islamic fascists will take over Iraq if any concessions are given them, just as they have taken control of the Gaza Strip, or Palestine if you will, but there never really was a sovereign state called Palestine.   Israel has made the mistake by thinking they could negotiate with these people.   The US is making a mistake thinking they can negotiate with these people.   Take the words of that thug in Tehran seriously folks.   Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth, and the great satan (that’s us) must be defeated. This is what they want. That is what they send women and children in as sacrifices for. They believe it in their heart and soul right out of the Koran that their mission is to destroy the infidel so they can live in peace under sharia.

General Petraeus has it right.      Washington Post article.

Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but the global warming theory is “hooey.”

Reid Bryson, known as the father of scientific climatology, considers global warming a bunch of hooey.”

No, how can that be? What will the country do about the EPA? All of those thousands employed by the EPA working to protect the environment from ourselves, new car restrictions, carbon offset credits and all of that stuff. Where will all these people find jobs?

“…. there is no credible evidence that it is due to mankind and carbon dioxide. We've been coming out of a Little Ice Age for 300 years. We have not been making very much carbon dioxide for 300 years. It's been warming up for a long time," Bryson said.”   Here is the link to the story.

But our government, nor the governments of the G8, nor the UN will give this guy the time of day, when before they used to sit at his feet listening to his every word.

Students get stressed out during exam time.

Duh, that’s part of what exams are for. “More than one million students are facing unprecedented levels of stress because of pressure to do well in exams, the Government's testing watchdog has admitted.” “George Turnbull, the official "exams doctor" appointed by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, said students were at risk of over-revising and warned that pushy parents were making the situation worse.”  From the UK

These kids are in for a troubled life if stress is removed from school, from the process of taking exams. Just wait till they get into the workforce. “Hey boss, I’m feeling an anxiety attack coming. Cool down man. We were taught in school to work hard for ten minutes, then take a ten minute break.” “What do you mean I have to pay the rent every month?” “ You want me to drive between the lines?”   Too much stress.  Anxiety.

So, what do the educators do about it. They bring in psychologists to help the stressed out students. “Psychologists say they face extra stress from schools seeking to improve their league table positions. More pupils are reporting symptoms of anxiety such as sleepless nights, eating disorders and panic attacks, they claim.”

That stuff is happening in the UK.   Is this happening right here in American schools?    You bet.

In Ohio, 2004. ““Schools grapple with stress”

In Seattle, 2005. “WASL worries stress kids, schools”

And here is the NEA “Stress reduction guide for teachers…”

And here is a web site that concentrates on ”Pre School Stress Relief Project.”    Get that, schools stress out the kids before they even get to school.

In the Virginia schools, an article came out this morning.   Kids get stressed out because they cannot touch each other as touching is banned.   How the heck can you play IT, if you can not touch. That's the whole purpose of playing IT, you've got to avoid being touched by dodging the person who is IT.  But the kid who is IT does not want to be IT, so he/she has to touch another so that kid is IT.   But you have to touch someone, and that relieves you from being IT.    The kids can’t run and now they can’t touch.   These kids we are raising are in for trouble.   Educators?    No, coddlers.   OK, It's time for Americans to play touch, and go to a private school or better yet,  home school your kids.   School choice.

All touching -- not only fighting or inappropriate touching -- is against the rules at Kilmer Middle School in Vienna. Hand-holding, handshakes and high-fives? Banned. The rule has been conveyed to students this way: "NO PHYSICAL CONTACT!!!!!"”

What a bunch of wimps this next generation will become. Ok folks, we got to get serious about this. We’ve got to leave the border open forever. We need some bridges across the Rio.

We don’t want to stress out the children of the Mexicans coming here to go to our schools where stress is not allowed.

Wow, the US is identifying every cow, chicken, and pig, but….we can’t identify the illegal aliens.

The NAIS (National Animal Identification System) is working through the states to register each and every meat producing animal, that would be cows, pigs, chickens, and possibly some of those more exotic animals, on the farms in the US.

“On June 8th, at the World Pork Expo at the State Fair Grounds in Des Moines, Knight spoke to producers about the National Animal Identification System. Knight, [the USDA undersecretary], said that 400,000 farms, or a little more than one-fourth of all of the farms in the U.S. have signed up so far.”   Read more .

And the feds say it’s compliance is all voluntary.  Yea, right.  All they have to do is require the packing houses to list the identificaation numbers of the animals they collect.  The farmers would not be able to sell their cows.  But it is still voluntary.

The US Department of Agriculture has this to say for the reason for the identification system.

"NAIS is a modern, streamlined information system that helps producers and animal health officials respond quickly and effectively to animal health events in the United States. The NAIS program-a voluntary State-Federal-Industry partnership-is designed to:
    1. Protect your premises and your livelihood
    2. Reduce hardships caused by an animal disease outbreak or other animal health vent in your community
    3. Protect your access to markets
"

But, the US cannot identify the 12 to whatever illegal aliens who are illegally in this country, illegally working for employers who illegally hire them.   We’ve been told of the numerous ways that the aliens have abused our health system, how many bring in communicable diseases, and how they have also pilferaged our properties and have taken jobs away from Americans because employers can pay lower rates etc.   Sure, those incidents are in the minority of the total illegals present, but it is happening.

Well, so it is with the animals that produce our meat supplies, only a small minority develop diseases.  Is there another reason the feds are willing to go to that extreme to "protect the US citizens"?  You bet there is.

Read Harry Lamb and more on this subject.

Well, how about protecting the US citizens from this illegal invasion?  Currently the majority of the illegals are hispanic, who usually do not pose a "terrorist" attack, but if the US allows the borders to remain an open door, the future illegals will be Islamic, and you know what that would mean.

Senator Inhofe .... a good Okie. More on that Belvedere.

On the Hill, Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma had this to say about the "new improved" immigration bill that is working its way back onto the floor of the Senate.  We are fortunate here in Okie land to have two good real conservatives representing us in the Senate, the other being Tom Coburn.

"Unfortunately it appears many in the Senate remain deaf to the voices of the American people, as yet another backroom deal has emerged designed to revive the fatally flawed immigration bill and its immediate path to amnesty.

Despite the promise of increased funding for border security and additional votes on a handful of amendments, the proposed legislation will continue to shortcut the current naturalization process and grant amnesty to 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants currently in our country. That is a trade off that I simply cannot support.

I have stated from the outset of this immigration debate that I will vehemently oppose any legislation that guarantees amnesty for illegal immigrants, unfairly burdens taxpayers or fails to secure our borders."

What's going on in your state?  Are you proud of your Senators?  Are they standing with the 'real' base of the party?  It takes more than two, it'll take 50 plus to keep this scam of a bill from passing this time around too.

*******

An update on that 57 Plymouth Belvedere that was buried 50 years ago here in Tulsa land was raised, and unwrapped last night at the city convention center with thousands anxiously waiting to see the beauty.  A big disappointment.  All of the beer cans packed away in the trunk were rusted out and undrinkable.

There it is.  The rust could be lifted off in sheets.  The motor was not startable.  The entire car was a piece of rust, except for the few plastic items and rubber items like the white walls.

"It's a mess"   A blow to the self-esteem of Tulsa.

Oh well, that's life in the big city.  For more on the story of the buried Plymouth Belvedere go to this link.

More Expert Advice.

It’s that time of year again folks when the family goes to beaches, parks, swim pools and all of those summer fun stuff places. You see the mommies rubbing down their kiddies with sun screen. The graceful ladies rubbing the stuff all over the exposed skin after each dip in the pool, and the men following suit as the wives insist. “I don’t want you to get skin cancer!”

We’re scarred of that evil sun shinning too hard on that tender skin with all that extra UV light that may possibly cause a skin cancer or warts, or whatever. The suns brightness is brighter and more damaging than ever before because it’s shinning through that ozone hole. It’s a bit confusing to me though, as that hole is over Minnesota, Dayton Beach, The French Riviera, The Baltic Sea, Sydney, Australia, Honolulu and San Diego all at the same time of the day. It’s only when you want to go to the beach. Greenland, Alaska and the South Pole too. What a hole that is!

And now the experts are warning that kids as young as three should be wearing UV blocker sunglasses. Yep. Kids as young as three. It’s new research. The experts have said so.

Children's eyes are more vulnerable to damage from the sun than adults' eyes because the cornea, lens and fluids are clearer, allowing more light to reach the retina.”   These experts are saying that our creator forgot something in the design process.

"It's vital that we educate parents about the dangers of the sun. We have to make it clear that sunglasses aren't just a fashion accessory. They really do protect us from damaging our eyes."   He added: "It's never too early to wear sunglasses, but I would say that children should be wearing them from the age of three."

There’s more to this stuff here.

What a boon to the sun glass makers.  Hey gals, get your fashion UV glasses for your three year old, but you really should not forget the younger brother, the 18 monther.   There has already been sun glasses for the kiddies on the racks in the stores, but it was because of market demand.   This is because of expert demands that soon will become expected because the experts have spoken and then, the local TV commentators will be airing the 20 second stories of the warnings of the experts before each and every holiday and warm week-end scarring the daylights out of you, all to the delight of Wal-Mart, Target, Macy’s and Dollar General.

And after a while, it is accepted as fact, and then the society monitors will be eye-balling you if you do not fit your three year old with UV sunglasses, as they frown upon you now about the sun screen tubes.  And it gives the TV commentators and local politicians something to get high horsey about.

Did the creator not foresee an ozone hole developing?

What do you mean, Mr. Lott?

Would Mr. Lott like to explain to the republican conservative base what he meant when he said: "Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem."

Now we all know that Trent Lott was supportive of that huge incomprehensible comprehensive immigration give away program.

We could give Trent Lott the benefit of the doubt and think that he meant that dealing with the problem of talk radio is just something that congress is going to have to live with.

Or, did he mean something else?

Now we all know that the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Boortz, Ingraham, and two dozen other radio talk show hosts, along with the bloggers, and the thousands of conservative commentators expressed their combined and unified outrage at this bill.   That unified base rose up and called, and e-mailed, and faxed their Senators to oppose the Kennedy-McCain-Bush immigration package.   It worked.

But now, Senator Trent Lott is unhappy with the base and is beginning to sound like Harry Reid.   If the people take up their microphones and keyboards, then restrict their usage.   Is that what you meant Mr. Lott?   If the people speak up against the desires of the power elites, then quench free speech.

That is not the American way of doing things Mr. Lott, and you swore to uphold the constitution. That constitution is still active and it specifies how the government is restricted, not how the people are restricted. Get that straight.   It specifies how the government is restricted.

Mr. Lott seems to have forgotten that.  Voters can also forget about Mr. Lott on a certain day.
