Folks, it’s appears that it is already too late to stop the global warming nightmare that will be consuming us all in the near future. There is already a bill proposed in the Senate that goes so far as to provide “assistance to the States to reduce school bus idling while picking up and unloading students.”
S.1321 Sec 278.
As O’Reilly would say, this is “the most ridiculous item of the day”
How far will the imaginations of our elected federal representatives extend to protect us all, their misguided and just plain stupid thoughts and ideas conceived in the middle of the night while downing the last gin and soda before bedtime. Have any of the states requested assistance and/or ideas to reduce school bus idling? Perhaps the States have, as the dilemna of obese kids taking so long to enter and leave the bus because the kids have to slowly maneuver the narrow aisles sideways and this takes time, so the bus could be turned off and restarted when the kids are safely discharged. The price of gas and all that stuff, so the local communities need help reducing the energy consumption mandated by federal edict.
There was a time when government was operated as responding to the demands of the several states, and I believe the constitution has not changed making the federal government the solver of all of the problems that could possibly arise within the states or local communities. Only the thinking of our representatives has changed. Their arrogance is the most ridiculous.
Take another item from the mythical global warming train wreck we will all experience over the next decade. The banning of the incandescent light bulbs is well under way. Our folks in Washington wants those bulbs completely removed from the hemisphere by 2012.
HR 1547 would prohibit “the sale of light bulbs that emit less than 60 lumens per watt, effective January 1, 2012” 120 lpw’s by 2020. And all these bulbs are being replaced by the CFL type bulbs, which contain small traces of mercury, which the EPA has yet worked out the details about how to safely dispose of those bulbs once they burn out, or you break one. But they have until 2012 to do that. OH, no, not that long, as all the stores are already selling these like crazy now because CNN, ABC and the rest have already had “special news segments” about all the benefits of the bulb that lasts and lasts and lasts.
Where did this generate? Jane Harman, the writer of HR 1547, a republican by the way, is from the district that is home to Phillips Lighting, one of the largest producers of CFL bulbs. Hmmm!
The purpose of all of these hysterical actions is to reduce the energy consumption and the emissions of greenhouse gases produced by industry, all transportation and individuals, mostly the western world which mainly comprises the US, the largest consumer of energy in the world, with China and India coming in closely behind, but they don’t count as being the bad guy, it's just the evil Americans, as it all started with Ford making a car in Detroit. The longhorn cows in Texas have also added a bit. But cows don't need to change out bulbs.
The point is not about CFL’s replacing the incandescent bulbs, it’s the entire global warming theory thing, or if you prefer climate change, that are consuming the liberals, the media, the politicians, the UN, the G8 group and possibly the apes that are now communicating with human caretakers. It was at one time called a theory until Pelosi was in Greenland and saw it with her own eyes and stated “It cannot be denied.”
So round and round we go and where it stops nobody knows. It’s still a dizzy theory. Coming up next. Cars cannot idle on cold days to warm the inside air. Signs (in English and Spanish) at all rail road crossings warning you to turn off the car until the non caboose passes.
